Suede is nearly always a staple in fall and winter wardrobes, but it’s majorly trending right now. That means there are a ton of new clothing items and accessories worth trying, and you know you’re making a smart investment that you can wear year after year (as long as you take proper care). If suede is on your wishlist, these pieces may need to find a way into your closet.

Prices are accurate as of November 21, 2024. Subject to change.

BGSD Anna Suede Leather Car Coat

I’ve fallen in love with the Bernardo Pinnacle Suede Double Breasted Jacket, but at $490 it’s an expensive purchase for a short season. If you’re looking to save on this trend, the BGSD Anna Suede Leather Car Coat offers real suede at a reasonable price. Its quality fabric and vertical seams make it look like it was custom-tailored for your figure. It’s also available in plus and petite sizes.

Jack Erwin Paz Mule

The satin version of the Jack Erwin Paz Mule was my go-to shoe this spring when I wanted to feel pulled together while not giving my feet any reason to complain. Currently, I’m itching to add this chic suede version to my fall capsule wardrobe. If you aren’t in a warmer climate like me, consider the brand’s Robie Chelsea boot for comfort and warmth (I’m a huge fan of the Quinn Chelsea boot).

Aerosoles Deanna Faux Suede Loafer

Another shoe brand I’ve come to trust in recent years is Aerosoles. Who has time for uncomfortable shoes that fall apart after a few wears? A good loafer is a wardrobe staple and this suede version feels so perfect for fall. And the price can’t be beat. I also love a brand I can shop on Amazon — gotta love that speedy shipping.

Faux Suede Tote Bag

The fashion crowd has been fawning over the Manu Atelier Le Cambon 35 suede bag this season. There’s a lot to love, but the price tag isn’t one of them. This $25 Amazon dupe will do the trick. If you take care of it, it should last beyond a single season, but if you find the suede trend to be your new preference, you can think about confidently investing in a higher-quality one next year.

Quince Italian Suede Baseball Cap

Another subtle way to embrace suede is with a baseball cap. For $50 you can get in on the suede trend while majorly upgrading your leisurewear. Everything I own from Quince is always great quality, which is why Better Report includes the brand on many of its lists of favorites.

A suede mini skirt is a fall and winter classic for a reason. It pairs well with tights and a sweater without making you too hot during transitional weather. Go for the timeless pecan shade or go more bold with the alpine green option.

Dream Pairs Knee-High Faux Suede Boots

Skip the heels and enjoy flat boots that still add a ton of polish to your look. If you struggle to find boots that fit due to calf width, this might just be the boot for you, as some reviewers raved over finally finding boots that fit. This boot is made of a vegan microsuede which will be your saving grace on rainy days.

How to Keep Your Suede Safe

If you prefer to wear real suede, I know what you’re thinking — rain. Yes, weather can put a literal damper on your suede pieces. To keep them safe, consider investing in a stain treatment like the ones below.

UGG Protector Shoe Spray: We all remember how perilous it was to wear our beloved UGGs on rainy days in the early aughts. That’s why I trust UGG knows how to keep suede safe and sound.
Crep Protect Shoe Protector Spray:  Consider this similarly affordable waterproofing spray if the UGG spray is sold out.
Reshoevn8r Shoe Cleaning Solution: If the damage is already done to your favorite pair of suede shoes, it’s worth trying this cleaning solution before investing in a brand-new pair.
