Whether you’re buying a gift for your mother, a partner, daughter, or friend, it’s not always easy to sum up the appreciation of all that moms do with a single object. But we can certainly try. Here, we’ve rounded up ideas that we think the mother in your life might enjoy.
If none of these catch your eye, many of our gift guides from the holidays, like Gifts Under $50 or Quirkiest Gifts, have suggestions that work for all occasions, including Mother’s Day.

Dimitria Stoneware Vase
Anything from Anthropologie’s homeware section makes a gorgeous gift, and we think you’ll find something to match any mom’s taste. The Dimitria vase stands out with its braided handles and eclectic paintings. It’ll look great holding any type of flowers, and just as good empty.

Dagne Dover Landon Carryall
Dagne Dover’s neoprene bags are high-quality and pretty but understated, so they’ll match nearly anything. The small Landon Carryall is a good choice for everyday, whether mom is commuting, working out, or running errands. It could work as a diaper bag, too, but if the mom you’re buying for has a new baby, Dagne Dover has parenting-specific backpacks and totes that come with a changing mat and stroller clips.

Baloo Silk Eye Mask
Whether the mom you’re buying for is taking care of a newborn or her kids are long out of the house, she could probably use some sleep. This is the best sleep mask I’ve ever tried. The silk is cool and smooth, so it doesn’t itch or irritate your face, and the slight weight helps relax you right to dreamland. If your giftee likes crystals, the grey mask has an amethyst sewn into it that’s meant to help clear the mind, and the pink has rose quartz for love and harmony. If you can swing it, create a whole bedtime relaxation gift with a robe — I like Brooklinen’s Super Plush robe — and slippers too. We have a few slipper favorites depending on style like the Ugg Tasman slip-ons and Bombas Gripper Booties.

Melitta Montalatte Milk Frother
If the mom in your life drinks a lot of coffee at home, upgrade her morning routine with this easy-to-use milk frother. And if she regularly springs for cafe-made lattes or cappuccinos, she’ll appreciate the ability to whip one up whenever she pleases. This compact frother requires little effort. Just pour in the milk, select the type of froth, like hot milk or cold foam, and press the power button. If you want to complete the gift with more accessories, see our gift guide for coffee and tea lovers. Might we suggest a great mug and gourmet coffee sampler?

Jenny Lemons Accessories
For the most whimsical of moms, Jenny Lemons has an accessory that matches their vibe, whether it’s a hair clip shaped like a frog, a hot dog comb, or daisy earrings. All the accessories are affordable and made from sustainable cellulose acetate, a material made from wood pulp.

Foton Candle
For moms who always have a candle burning, give them something unique. Foton Candles use pearls instead of solid wax. Your giftee can pour them into the container of their choosing — whether it’s one you include with the gift or something they pick on their own — add the included wick and light. To refresh it, pull the wick out, and with it comes the mealted pearls. Give it a shake, replace the wick, and you have a new candle!

Flower Delivery
Flowers are always a nice surprise, and services like Bouqs and Urban Stems allow for easy delivery if you don’t live close to your giftee. Each brand has many flower and vase options. We’ve linked to two we particularly like: Bouq’s lily bouquet with pink and white checkered vase and Urban Stem’s spring-colored hyacinth bouquet.

Galison Crafts and Puzzles
For the mom that loves a craft or puzzle to keep her hands busy, consider any of Galison’s lineup. I particularly like the Gray Malin Nantucket 1000-Piece Book Box Puzzle and the Liberty Origami Treasure Box, which comes with 78 sheets of oragami paper in a few beautiful prints and instructions for three different box shapes. Need a card to add to the gift? Include the Buzzy Bouquets Greeting Card Puzzle.

Knix Gift Card
Knix is one of my favorite brands. Everything I’ve tried becomes my favorite of that category, from the Dream Short period underwear and Revolution v-neck bra to the SculptRib T-shirt that’s my go-to shirt. It can get pricey though, so getting a Knix gift is high up on my wishlist. If you know exactly what the moms in your life are looking for and what size they need, you can grab it, but a gift card is an easy way to allow them to spoil themselves with whatever they want.

A DIY Beauty Box
If you’re shopping for someone who loves skincare, consider putting together a box with a few of the most viral products. You know what they’ll like best, but here are a few of our favorite products right now:
– The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Serum delivers hydration without feeling heavy.
– Tatcha is the epitome of luxury skincare and its Dewy Skin Cream is the best moisturizer I’ve ever tried. It’s expensive to buy for yourself regularly, which tends to be a good quality of a great gift.
– Naturium’s Barrier Boost is close to snatching Tatcha’s thrown in my skincare hierarchy. It’s much more affordable, thankfully, and feels rich and creamy on my dry skin.
– I’ve tried many pimple patches, and the Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch is the best. I always have a box on hand.

Holy Menopause: Adventures of a Middle-Aged Superheroine
If the mom in your life tries to find the humor in everything — and she’s been very open about her menopausal journey — she may enjoy the Holy Menopause graphic novel by Bunny Gonopolskaya. It tells the tale of Mina, who tries to uncover a crime ring by tapping into the parallel dimension of the middle-aged woman.
